Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson gave his side a lackluster 2-0 shows how they were beaten by Liverpool this afternoon.
“Well, the disappointing performance was – in the first half in particular a poor performance from us,” he told Sky Sports.
“We do not care about the atmosphere of the game, I thought, and we do not support many decisions against us. It would have been better to do that, we have enough experience,” he says.
The Manchester United manager said his side after the first half was better, but they were the most important decisions in the match pitch.
“Second half I thought we improved a lot, but we have lost one or two important decisions,” said Ferguson.
“I felt that [the challenge] Carrick in the first half was a kick a penalty, it is [Jamie Carragher] is well above the top of the ball to Michael Carrick, outside the box, c ‘is a kick.
“Of course, the controversy is that everyone speak when he brought [Carragher] Michael Owen on the edge of the box. It is the experienced player, he is their best defender, no question.
“If it goes into this phase of the game, it was difficult for them.”
Despite these criticisms, Sir Alex was gracious in defeat and said his side dominated Liverpool and deserved the three points.
“Everything in Liverpool were the better team, they created more chances, they were better than us on the day and I have no complaints … Liverpool were the better team.
“They deserved to win,” he concludes.
