Manchester United To Seek New ‘Keeper Whether Van der Sar Retires Or Not

Manchester United will intensify their search for a new goalkeeper, whether or not Edwin van der Sar decided to call time on his career at the end of the season, according to a report published by The Evening News Manchester.

The 39-year-old has already said he would carefully consider his future in the summer after a difficult season in which his wife suffered a brain haemorrhage on Christmas.

The veteran usually renew his contract at Old Trafford in December, but the health scare of his wife who have disrupted the season.

Given the fact that Van der Sar, 40 October next, the decision is that it will not be pressed, and the United files apparently all in place in respect of his potential successors.

Manuel Neuer (Schalke 04), Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moscow), Rene Adler (Bayer Leverkusen) and Hugo Lloris (Lyon) have been linked with the Red Devils in the recent past.
