
The Football Association has confirmed it is investigating reports of the amount of interference during last night’s Carling Cup match between Manchester United and Barnsley at Oakwell.
South Yorkshire Police have arrested four elements in play – the flaring of all of Manchester – after the trouble at halftime. Eight members of the catering staff were caught in a food kiosk and had to be in a storage room for about 25 minutes as fans broke barricades and stole money and food products.
Stewards on the ground had been laid even eat during the violence.
“The police and both clubs were in the behavior of a minority of fans disappointed,” said a spokesman for South Yorkshire Police. “We responded quickly and effectively to a spontaneous disease caused by a small group of people who had gathered near the central bar on the North Stand.
“The uniformed officers have been guaranteed are used to restore order, the distribution of the quantity and to ensure staff security in the region.”
In another case, three Barnsley fans running on the field have been arrested during the match.
